What is a social ride?

A social ride is a ride you do for the company. The pace is agreed before the start, the group stays together, and nobody is racing anybody. There's often a coffee stop, and that's usually where the next ride gets planned.

You don't need a club to ride one. On Draft any rider can post a ride and any rider nearby can join it. That is the idea Draft started from: connecting individual cyclists.

Meet the riders before the ride.

  • See who's going

Every ride shows the host and the riders who have joined. You know who you'll be riding with before you commit.

  • A pace you agree on

Hosts set a pace bracket in km/h, like 25–28. Pick a ride you can hold a conversation on.

  • Close to home

Draft shows rides within 10, 25, 50 or 100 km of your home base. Once you've joined you can download the host's route, and a reminder lands an hour before the start.

Nobody riding when you are? Post a ride.

Pick a date and a start point, set the pace, and say in a line or two what kind of ride it is. Share the link with anyone you'd like along. Every group starts with one rider who posted first.

Common questions.

What is a social ride?
A group ride where the company matters more than the speed. The pace is agreed up front, the group stays together and nobody races.
Can I join a social ride on my own?
Yes. That's who Draft is built for. Public rides are open to any rider nearby, and you see the host and who has joined before you tap join.
How fast is a social ride?
As fast as the host says. The pace bracket in km/h is on the ride before you join. If nothing matches your pace, post a ride at your own.
What if there are no rides near me?
Draft is young and some areas are still filling up. Widen your radius to 50 or 100 km, or post the ride you'd like to join. Every group starts with one ride.
Is Draft free?
Yes. Draft is free to download and use, with no subscription.
Do I need to be a member of a club?
No. Draft isn't a club and has no membership. Anyone with the app can join a public ride or host one.
