Done riding alone?
Solo miles are fine until every ride is one. Draft shows the rides planned near you and who's on them, so the next one doesn't have to be solo.
Free. No subscription.
Why riding with others is different.
In a group you share the wind. Sitting on a wheel takes a good part of the effort out of a flat road, which is why the same legs go further and faster together. It's also where Draft gets its name.
The rest is harder to measure: someone to talk to on the long straight bits, a reason to get out of bed when it's grey, a hand when you puncture. Plenty of riders ride alone only because they don't know who else is out there.
Whatever keeps you riding solo.
New in town
Set your home base and a radius of 10, 25, 50 or 100 km. Draft shows the rides planned inside it, and riding with a local host is a quick way to learn the roads.
Friends who don't ride
Public rides are open to any rider nearby. You see the host and who has joined, so you're not turning up blind.
An odd schedule
Free on Tuesday mornings rather than Sundays? Post a ride for the time that works for you and see who else is around then.
Start with the ride you'd do anyway.
You're going out on Saturday regardless. Post the loop with a start time and a pace, and see who joins. If nobody does this week, you've lost nothing.
Common questions.
- I've never ridden in a group. Can I still join?
- Yes. Pick a ride with a pace you hold comfortably on your own and read the host's description. Tell the host at the start that it's your first group ride.
- Do I have to commit to riding every week?
- No. You join ride by ride. If your plans change you can leave a ride and your spot opens up for someone else.
- What if there are no rides near me?
- Draft is young and some areas are still filling up. Widen your radius to 50 or 100 km, or post the ride you'd like to join. Every group starts with one ride.
- Is Draft free?
- Yes. Draft is free to download and use, with no subscription.
- Do I need to be a member of a club?
- No. Draft isn't a club and has no membership. Anyone with the app can join a public ride or host one.
